Search Two: [Video]

[Harry Mason is sitting under a tree. Harry Mason looks quite tired...well still tired, and a little wet. Lisa the Togepi is sleeping peacefully in the bag. She's had a rough few days. Or at least some interesting ones. Harry has as well.

Which is why he's turning on the video link. Have an awkward smile.]

Well camping's taking a little time to get used to. I don't suppose I might be able to get some tips from people who've been at it longer? I don't think I've been camping for

....well it was a while ago.

[He glances over to the bag where Lisa is.]

Oh and anyone who was telling me my Togepi would surprise me. You were definilty right....I did not see that coming.

Ah...on that note. When the attacking...mons- pokemon...collapses like that...it's alright to just leave them there, right?

[People might assume he was worried about the creatures safety. He's more worried about whether or not he should have made sure it was dead.]

.....What was it?

[Raised eyebrow. He knows that these things look weird and well Silent Hill and that....]

[Another pause, and then a sigh. She supposes she'd better just... show him.]

[The camera jostles briefly, then turns to show... something large and almost obscenely fluffy lying flat on its back on the floor of the hotel room, surrounded by various clothes and supplies-- it looks like Heather's in the middle of packing. But that's beside the point. The hairy beast, with its ears splayed out goofily on either side of its head and pony-like tail swishing back and forth blankly across the carpet... is a dog.]

[A big dog.]

[A big, bright orange, tiger-striped dog.]

[It stares at the camera with a sort of blank, drooly look. 8I HELLO.]

... Yeeeeaaaaah.

[identity profile] harryusedworry.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Okay that took Harry by surprise.]

...a giant dog.

Heather, you hate dogs.

[No duh Harry. But he's really just stating that because....wth]

[SOB.]

Yeeeeeeep.

N'that's not the only thing I hate.

[As if on cue (because timing like this only existed in sitcoms and the Pokemon world, apparently), the dog's snout crinkles before it sneezes explosively. ... Literally, considering a small tongue of flame licks the air in the process.]

[You can pretty much HEAR Heather facepalming.]

[Just jumping back a little.]

...they gave you a fire breathing dog.

[Seriously? Could they not find any other phobia his daughter had, to shove in there as well? He'd like to have "words" with whoever was in charge of this.]

foolishwren: as i was, you shall be (UGHGHGHGH)

[personal profile] foolishwren 2011-04-20 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
... Yeah. Yeah, they did.

[And if Heather was going to be entirely honest with herself, she was still a little bit miffed about that. ... Granted, she'd had more than enough time to at least get mostly used to it. Enough that the slobbery menace had become a friend rather than something to keep stuffed into one of those balls as much as possible. But... still.]

[The only other things it needed was to be a fire-breathing dog with a mirror for a face and they'd pretty much have all the bases covered.]

... I named him Cujo.

[If ANYONE was going to be able to appreciate that reference, it was gonna be her dad.]

[The smirk as he shakes his head shows he does.]

How is he?
foolishwren: are waiting to GOOF OFF with you (SILLY GIRLS in YOUR AREA)

He's...

Well. I've had a year to get used to him.

... S'probably the only dog I'll ever tolerate. Dumb as a sack of bricks.

[... But there WAS something akin to affection in her tone. She had learned to appreciate the mutt, after all.]

He's too stupid to hurt anything.

... Well, 'cept for ... y'know, in battle.

[identity profile] harryusedworry.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
One is better then none. It's good you managed to get used to him.

[Proud daddy is proud of you.]

How have you been doing?

[In between the many times they've probably checked in on each other since he first arrived.]
foolishwren: let's take ibuprofen together (hey.)

[personal profile] foolishwren 2011-04-20 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
[She cracks a smile at that.]

Yeah, he's... I don't mind him so much. [That wasn't to say she still didn't get some serious fight-or-flight reactions when he greeted her too enthusiastically, or when he got overexcited and nippy-- but eh. He was all right, even with the fire. It was kinda nice to have a living heater around to use as a pillow on cold winter nights.]

I should warn you, though, he's... uh, he gets really excited around new people. [The lazy creature lying on the floor was just an example of what Cujo was like BETWEEN wild spells-- when it came to the speed at which he could dash around the room in an excited frenzy, he could go from zero to batshit in about .5 seconds.]

But YEAH, I'm good! [You bet. Heather was grateful for the opportunities to continually confirm that he was HERE.] I've been getting packed. M'leaving in the morning.

[identity profile] harryusedworry.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
....I'll keep that in mind.

[He'll try not to attack your dog if it jumps him. He really will.]

That's good.

Alright. I'll continue travelling then. We'll meet somewhere along here.
Edited 2011-04-20 02:55 (UTC)
foolishwren: what doesn't kill you gives you a lot of unhealthy coping mechanisms and a really dark sense of humor (well you know what they say...)

[personal profile] foolishwren 2011-04-20 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
[MUCH APPRECIATED. Even though she'll totally understand if you do.]

We can figure out where to meet when I get closer.

[She's... done this before, so-- ... she's the general timeline more or less worked out in her mind.]

[identity profile] harryusedworry.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
[Just make sure he doesn't have a weapon in his hands...]

That's true.

Oh you were right about the owls by the way.
foolishwren: like what if you tried to sue obama and you just got a letter back saying "no" and he came to your house and did the worm (can you even sue the president)

[personal profile] foolishwren 2011-04-20 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
[Nothing could be worse than the brutal ass-whooping she unleashed on the poor thing while she was hallucinating Silent Hill monsters all over the place-- ... but yeah, she'll try to make sure Harry doesn't have any sharp branches on his person when she introduces him to Cujo for the first time...]

UGH! Aren't they awful?!

My first night in this place, I thought like-- ... some... grandma demon had snuck up on me and was standing at the end of my sleeping bag and screaming her brains out.

[And she had thrown every pick-uppable object within arm's reach of her sleeping bag in that general direction before she realized that there was no creepy grandma demon.]

[identity profile] harryusedworry.livejournal.com 2011-04-21 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
They're going to take a while to get used to.

I didn't know owls could make those noises.

[personal profile] foolishwren 2011-04-21 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Neither did I, till one decided to sit above my head and make noises like it was dying horribly.

[She'd captured it solely for the sake of shutting it up.]

[identity profile] harryusedworry.livejournal.com 2011-04-22 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[He laughs at that.]

I suppose nature is just something else strange about this place.

Yeeeah. It only gets crazier from here, m'fraid to say.

[Most of the monsters from New Bark to Violet were all pretty small and relatively harmless-- ... e-except for the Beedrill. Erk. She'd better warn him about those later...]

But otherwise, how're you farin'?

[identity profile] harryusedworry.livejournal.com 2011-04-23 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
I've been doing well I think.
