[A video feed turns on and shows a tired looking middle aged man with brown hair. It's taken him awhile but apparently you can use this thing for messages? It meant ...well talking to people and right now he'd rather just close his eyes and try to figure out why he was breathing. But well, you can't put everything off.

He sighs and trying to ignore the strange creature jumping up and down on his bag behind him, speaks up]

Well so far this has been the better of the two towns I’ve woken up in. Things don’t seem to be trying to kill me as much as they did in Silent Hill anyway. Less fog and snow too....

I don’t suppose anyone would know a way for me to get home would they? My daughters still out there and I need to find her before... Well , I need to find her. Or find out what happened to her even if I can’t go back.

[He sighs, knowing he’ll regret it if he doesn’t ask.]

Also, was anyone dead before they woke up here? Because I’m really sure I was.

... I finished high school about a month and a half before I was brought here.

.... M'turning nineteen this summer.

[Harry falls silent at that. What do you say when you realize you've missed two years of your daughters life? What about the fact that he should be missing all of them, not just two?]

_{[Yeeeeaah. Heather's not quite sure what she should say to mitigate that.]}

... But I was doing okay.

Working. And... stuff.

_{[She's not sure she wants to mention that she hadn't tried to apply for colleges. After losing him, and... well, after Silent Hill, just finishing her last year of high school on her own had seemed a daunting and difficult enough task.]}

... The apartment doesn't really feel like home anymore, though.

... I was kinda-- _{[Well, okay, she hadn't been happy. She'd mostly been sitting there wondering what the hell there was for her to DO in the world that she had saved that night. It was funny-- a year before, the possibilities had seemed endless. Then-- blank. She had nothin'. It hadn't been permanent, she had confidence that she'd figure out what to do EVENTUALLY. But right there, before she'd come to Johto, she was very much smack dab in the middle of "I graduated high school. I'm living on my own. I can do whatever I want. .... NOW what?" state.]}

... Would ... would you be mad if I... moved somewhere else?

That place is just... it's not the same anymore.

_{[No matter what she did, nothing would ever erase the memory of walking into the room and finding his body.]}

... IF I ever wind up back there, anyway.

I wouldn't be mad sweetie. In fact I think that might be a good idea.

_{[The way the corners of her mouth curl upwards isn't quite a smile, but it's close to one.]}

[He nods. Just starting to realizes that she'd probably never have gotten the chance if this place hadn't dragged him here.]

Well that's one good thing about being dragged back from the dead.

[He tries to keep his tone light, with a small smile.]

_{[There were a lot of things Heather would probably have never gotten the chance for without this place.]

[In any case, she's all for lightening of the tone.]}

_{[The almost-smile turns to a real one.]}

[His turns into a real smile as well and he laughs.]

_{[... Except the police, and the nurses in the Center in Violet City. Harry did not need to know about Heather's reputation with the police and nurses of Violet City.]}

And-- and my FRIENDS! You gotta meet them-- they're nothing like those creeps I used to hang out with back in high school.

_{[Harry would probably also be pleased to know that Heather had stuck to her guns and stayed away from the cigarettes even WITHOUT him around to scold her for it anymore.]}

[Heather. What did he say. Cops are our friends....except when they're charging daddy with murder.]

[Did not approve of those friends at all. Also yay. You won't get any lectures from him then....]

I'll show you EVERYTHING. This world is-- ... well, okay, there's parts of it that kinda suck, but... It's amazing. _{[... He'd have to get used to the outdoorsy part of it, though. WHAT IS CAMPING.]

[She grins broadly.]}

Betcha didn't think I could even make friends who weren't jerks anymore.

_{[... That's not to say that some of the friends she's made here AREN'T jerks, but still. As for the cigarettes, well, she'd be lying if she said she hadn't been tempted more than once. But she'd stayed away anyway.]}

[He smiles at that.]

You know I was starting to wonder.

It was a phase, I promise.

I... think you'll like a lot of the friends I've made in this place.

_{[Sure, one of them was an internationally-infamous jewel thief, and another was a big muscular crazy guy with daddy issues and a fatal allergy to wearing shirts, BUT HEY. At least Heather wasn't shoplifting anymore.]}

_{[Hey. HEY. They were good dudes, all right? ... Besides, insanity aside, Liquid Snake had been giving the Unholy Death Stare (tm) to any man who so much leered slightly in Heather's direction. That's a good thing, right?]

[In any case, she's planning on leaving the 'jewel thief' part out when introducing Harry to Kaito.]}

Yeah. Nice thing about this place is there's a lot of people who look out for each other.

... I know we were always used to being on our own, but... s'kinda nice to have it the other way around. Y'know... for the first time.

_{[Even back in the days when Heather HAD a few decent pals, the constant moving-around had really put a crimp in her ability to make any that lasted... just a sad, inevitable consequence of needing to stay hidden. Maybe that was why she'd eventually turned to the crowd of unsavory folks who cared more about partying and shocking their conservative parents than they actually did about each other. It had been easier that way.]}

[Oh that is definitely a good thing. And he just smiles softly at that.]

I'm glad you're getting that chance.

[It had been a theory that had popped into Harry's mind. Which just made him feel worse that he was dragging her around everywhere. But her safety was more important. It didn't stop him from feeling guilty about it though.]

[Heather smiles back, although after a pause, she adds--]}

_{[Even back home, it had still been a concern-- although nothing had happened in the year following the incident, probably largely due to the fact that the only cult members who had known Alessa's new identity and location had all wound up dead. But still. A concern.]}

I thought there might be... y'know, a chance, but... s'been a year and nobody like that's shown up.

[Rubs the back of his head.]

....It's probably not likely. But if this place can bring people who are supposed to be dead... I'm still going to be a little worried about one of them showing up here.

Anyway... yeah, I won't rule out the possibility.

I'm not sayin' we should let our guard down or anything, but... this is way different than it was back home.

That little ... egg-... thingy that you were gonna name after me might not look like much, but give it a few months ...

_{[That wasn't to say that Heather didn't miss being able to just aim a gun and shoot in a bad situation... but she had to admit that relying on these animals wasn't quite as bad as she'd first thought it would be.]}

_{[Heather was (and still is) pretty much... exactly the same way. There are ALWAYS weapons available for the resourceful... you just gotta make sure not to get caught by the cops holding anything that looks like you might use it for violence.]}
