Search Three: [Video] / Action for Goldenrod
[Video: Hey Route! Have an awkwardly smiling Harry, he's standing outside a hotel. Lisa the Togepi is peaking out of the bag on his shoulder, looking around.]
I guess you can get used to anything. Or at least I'm getting used to camping anyway. Heather and I made it to Goldenrod.
[Just looking around]
....I guess it is true they paint every building the same colour. ...
Ah, well. I'd better go look around a bit so I don't get lost.
[Action:
Harry Mason is off on an adventure. And by adventure I mean he's exploring Goldenrod.
You can find him looking around a few places in the town. Stores mostly. Why yes he does look lost. ...is there a book store? He may be looking for something with books. Or feel free to find him in front of the hotel. ]

Dad. Dad. Dad. Look.
[Assuming she navigated him to some bookstore or other, she'll be waving a heavy hardcover novel around in front of his nose.]
They've got crappy serial bestsellers in this world, too!
[Action]
[Amused smile as he tries to get her to stop waving it in front of him so he can see it.]
Are they all about Pokemon?
[Action]
Totally.
I got this one for a friend of mine for Christmas-- it's about a detective chasing a serial killer, and the twist ending is that all the murder weapons are secretly the same Ditto.
That's a Pokemon that can turn into anything it wants.
[Action]
[Looking at the authors name of course. Harry is judging the covers okay. You've probably heard speeches like this before. It's supposed to be about the story, not the person writing it.]
.... wouldn't it be easier to just use a weapon?
[Wait.]
...So there are writers here?
[Action]
Prob'ly, but I'm guessing that if the weapon had just been a weapon, it couldn't turn back into itself and escape from the place where they store all the vital evidence each time like it does in the book.
N'yeah, of course there are. Writing's kinda universal, isn't it?
[Action]
[Just running through a few stories in his head.]
Oh? Good, I should hope so.
[Action]
[As if to demonstrate, she spreads her arms a little and just... gestures around them. Almost EVERYTHING has something to do with the animal life here-- and brightly-colored creatures of all shapes and sizes mingle with the bustling city crowds almost more numerously than leashed dogs do in the cities back home...]
But yeah, there's books here, so... SOMEONE'S gotta write 'em.
[Action]
[Rather amused by that.]
Something to look into for the future I suppose then.
[He can train pokemon and write...right?]
[Action]
I've seen restaurants that allow people to bring their Pokemon in with 'em but not their kids-- how weird is that?
[And of course you can, Harry-- just don't expect to get published easily unless that detective you're writing about has a trusty Jolteon or something by his side!]
[In any case, Heather puts the book back down, still grinning.]
Gonna keep writing?
[Action]
[He's slowly getting over the whole what the hell part of this and finding it rather interesting as well now.]
That is strange...
[And awkward smile. Hey he can totally include pokemon in his stories.]
Maybe. When I get more used to this place, I'd like to.
[Action] *SCREAM* Oh god I am so sorry for late. Finals are over now. ;-;
I bet you can use your 'Gear to log writing so you won't have to lug a billion notebooks around with you all the time.
totally fine. It's your turn on the log as well by the way.
That would save room.
.... DB< GOD DAMMIT LJ NOTIFS. /GOES TO REPLY
It pays to travel light... of course, over the winter I accumulated a ton of crap I don't wanna let go of, so traveling kinda sucks when I don't have something big enough to ride...
[Solid, after all, had only been borrowed.]
Pretend this notif is for the log as well. :P
XD SWEET THAT WORKS
A lot of us were here for the winter. So... everybody kinda tried to celebrate Christmas as usual. [It was been kind of neat, actually... the way that, despite being stuck in a strange world, all the foreigners had come together around a familiar holiday. Or not-so-familiar, for some of them-- but many of those had joined in the fun anyway.]
[It had been Heather's second Christmas without Harry.]
no subject
I take it you had fun?
no subject
.....
... Yeah.
[There were ... things going on at the time. Things like Harry-- a much younger Harry who Heather'd barely had a chance to talk to-- disappearing from Johto. And two of her best friends, brothers practically, going off to do something very stupid and possibly fatal. ... She'd had a lot on her mind.]
... Was a little homesick.
[For the old days more than home itself. Home itself held no attachment for her anymore.]
no subject
We'll just have to fix that this year then.
[Home is wherever his daughter is.]
no subject
I like that idea.
no subject
Do they normally celebrate Christmas around here?
no subject
There was a pretty festive, y'know, atmosphere in general but I dunno if it was the same holiday or if us outsiders were the only ones celebrating.

... Winter's real pretty here, too.
Man, there's still so much I gotta show you.
no subject
That'll be nice to see.
Is that so?
Going to introduce me to your friends soon?
no subject
You bet! ... As soon as I can track a few of 'em DOWN, anyway. But yeah! You'll love 'em! ... Most of 'em!
