Personality:
Harry Mason is a devoted father and he will do anything for his daughter. In the first Silent Hill game, he took on an entire town and killed a god just so get could find his daughter again. After leaving the town with his child, now a baby again, he went and raised her by himself. They were almost caught by the cult from Silent Hill but Harry killed the person who found them, in self defence. In short there is almost nothing Harry will not do to keep his daughter safe. He also worries a great deal about her safety thanks to the cult and just general fatherly over protectiveness. Heather has described him as a worry-wart.
Harry is also quite a logical person. When in Silent Hill he keeps careful records of his time there, also recording all the places he goes on the maps he finds of the area. This way he doesn’t get lost as much and he knows where to search next. He’s clever as well because there are many puzzles scattered across the town and Harry had to solve them before being able to continue onward. And some of these puzzles are quite difficult.
.
Harry’s not very good with social situations. He’s a friendly man; however he cut himself off from the world when his wife died. His profession as an author gives him another reason to stay away from people. That’s why in Silent Hill his conversations are rather awkward and one tracked. He’s honest and a good man. He’s just not as in touch with the world as he was before his wife died. He’s quite content to just look after Heather and quietly write.

[The video flickers to life and a middle-aged brown haired man can be seen on the screen. He looks tired.]
Well so far this has been the better of the two towns I’ve woken up in. Things don’t seem to be trying to kill me as much as they did in Silent Hill anyway. Less fog and snow too.
I don’t suppose anyone would know a way for me to get home would they? My daughters still out there and I need to find her before…. Well , I need to find her. Or find out what happened to her even if I can’t go back.
[He sighs, knowing he’ll regret it if he doesn’t ask.]
Also, was anyone dead before they woke up here? Because I’m really sure I was.
….Quite sure actually.
Third Person Sample:
Harry Mason leaned against a tree and sighed. Alright, time to try and figure out what he was going to do.
He was suddenly not dead, in a strange world and there was an equally strange creature jumping up and down on his bag. He glanced over at the small thing and had to smile at the sight. As strange as it looked, it was rather cute. And since it didn’t seem to be trying to kill him yet, it was a vast improvement over the other “strange” creatures he’d run into in the last town he’d just “woken up” in.
Though, he wasn’t sure if he could die, if he was already dead. The smile on his face dropped and he tried to move his thoughts away from those memories. The sun was out, it was a beautiful day wherever he was. He didn’t want to have to think about what happened to him in that apartment or what it meant his daughter might be going through at this very moment. There wasn’t anything he could do about that now, as much as it hurt to admit that.
“I suppose I’ll have to think of a name for you.” The creature just made a noise as it continued to amuse itself with Harry’s bag. “It’s a shame Heather isn’t here. She was always better at picking names then I was.”
Which she found quite funny considering he was the writer.
Maybe he should name it Heather. She might find that amusing, or annoying. He actually chuckled at that though, imagining her embarrassed face if he told her.
“I suppose a name will have to wait for now. At least until I can think up something.” Though hopefully that would be soon, because he did feel rather bad just referring to it as an it.
“Maybe some people around here might have some ideas.” He’d taken a look and seen a few people talking through videos on that device he’d been given. He should probably try that soon and try and get some help. He wasn’t really looking forward to it though. There seemed to be a lot of people here.
He couldn’t put it off forever though. He’d go through his bag, look over what supplies he had and then he’d see what information about this place other people could give him.
